Why I Like Apple | Honesty

  • You know I don’t solely use all Apple computers (iMacs), phones (iPhone), routers (Airport Extreme Base Station), iPods, internet storage and communication, & Cinema Displays simply because they make my business and personal life run more efficient, and well yea they sure do look nice too….. but because every time I have walked into an Apple store I always have gotten great customer service and reliability of product. In the past few days the new “MobilleMe” interface was launched by Apple, which I also use, and well, for lesser of words Apple had a problem with it’s execution. So what does a multi-billion dollar company do (5.4 billion as of 2008 Forbes)….well they apologized to their loyal consumers. Today I received an e-mail form them apologizing for their mishap &  gave their consumers a $30 free extension to their “MobileMe” accounts. In all true reason I think that many companies would just work their way through a problem without executing an apology and simply take in complaints and shrug off the downfall of a “bad start” with a simple mentality that it’s the cost of doing business, and in return give nothing back to their loyal customers, or take responsibility at that.  Many would say that they should or deserve to apologize, but in todays world I think that many apologies have gone without ever being given from many businesses and customer service in many places is half best if that. Many times a simple apology and a method or plan to correct an error can go a long way…..hey no ones perfect & even I have run across some snags across the road, it’s what comes by running a business; but I always give my best to correct a situation even if that means loosing money, why? because the investment in a company should be long term, and this is where loyalty and honesty in business pays off. Do I pay more for Apple equipment, yep, but I also get a reliable product with great customer service and a splash of honesty.
