It’s Memorial Day and I was going to start of by saying happy Memorial Day…then I stopped and thought for a bit and really asked myself, is this a happy day? After all we are honoring all those military personnel that have lost their lives. Was it a happy day when a wife lost her husband, a husband lost his love, a child lost a father, a mom no longer had her family? Yea sure it’s happy for us, we live a happy day because what, someone gets another Federal Holiday with pay? Hey look another three day weekend, what should we do maybe BBQ, head over to Best Buy for the latest deals? Is it a happy day today overseas where a young man sits in a sandstorm, in a hole, with live fire screaming over his head, praying that he can survive another day to read his love letters from home. Yes, am I happy that I live in America and proud to know that many brave soldiers provide this freedom to me, you bet I’m happy, but on this Memorial Day I though about it’s significance more so than any other previous Memorial Days, and shared a few words of prayer to all those families that no longer have that someone special to rock in their chairs with them anymore…ec
